Enter Ms. Pearl, an initiative born in 2012 to empower women entering or reentering the workforce.
Ms. Pearl’s Evolution:
Fueled by generous community donations, Ms. Pearl provided clothing and support to countless individuals. However, as my real estate career blossomed, the challenge of storage led to the bittersweet decision to dissolve Ms. Pearl. But, the idea never truly faded away.
New 2 U Muskoka Emerges:
Over a decade later, the concept of Ms. Pearl found new life as New 2 U Muskoka. Embracing the online realm via a thriving Facebook group, the community has swelled to over 1,300 members. It’s a testament to the power of generosity and the resonance of a shared purpose.
The Birth of “Sip, Show & Shop”:
In collaboration with three like-minded local businesswomen, the idea of a live event, “Sip, Show & Shop,” was conceived. On October 13, 2023, Canvas Brewery in Huntsville became the vibrant backdrop for our inaugural event, welcoming over 180 women. The success surpassed our expectations, creating an unforgettable experience.
An Unforgettable Evening:
The event showcased tables adorned with generously donated clothing, forming a haven for women to “shop” freely. The atmosphere pulsed with the beats of a DJ, and a captivating fashion show unfolded. Adding a touch of culinary delight, the grazing table, courtesy of Northern Lights Charcuterie, was a feast for the eyes and the palate.
