Q: What is the story behind Bredin Brothers? How long has your business been operating in Muskoka?

After returning home from travelling and working for a local Muskoka builder, I decided it was time to venture off on my own and start Bredin Brothers. The company specializes in building custom homes and boathouses in Muskoka, approaching each project with a creative eye and a commitment to quality. Bredin Brothers believes in honesty, quality craftsmanship and teamwork with a solid crew to support the growing business. 

Q: What sets Bredin Brothers apart from other builders in the Muskoka region?

Our talented team of licensed carpenters and project managers sets us apart at Bredin Brothers. We also are committed to fostering a healthy work environment and supporting the mental health and wellness of our employees and those within our community. After personally experiencing a health scare in 2019, aside from Covid-19, and receiving amazing care from Bracebridge and Huntsville hospital, it is extremely important for me to ensure my employees are healthy, happy and taken care of. 

Q: Tell us more about the team that supports Bredin Brothers?

Currently, we have ten employees that are supporting our growing company. Our team is talented, professional and passionate about bringing your vision to life. From Architects, Project Managers and Licensed Carpenters, we work as a team to get the job done. We’ve recently hired another project manager to expand Bredin Brothers and take on more business. We currently manage 2-3 sites at a time, and filling this position will allow us to take on more.

Q: What types of projects are you currently working on?

We currently have 3 projects on the go and a number that we are in the process of moving forward. This summer we are working on a cottage and boathouse build on Lake Joe while finishing up two boathouse builds that are also on Lake Joe. After these builds are done we will be moving on to two other complete cottage build projects where we will take the projects from the design phase, through construction and into the finalized build. Additionally, we have three renovation projects that we will be completing. 

Q: Can you tell us what community means to you

The Muskoka community means a lot to me. I am personally grateful to the Bracebridge and Huntsville hospital staff for providing me with amazing care and comfort during my time dealing with health issues. I’ve been fortunate enough to give back by donating close to $10,000 to the hospitals last year on behalf of the Bredin Brothers, and I plan to continue doing this.

Q: What are some of your favourite things to do in the Muskoka region? What are your favourite places to visit?

One of the reasons I moved North was for the Muskoka lifestyle. To be able to surf in the summer and snowmobile in the winter was something that was really appealing to me. I don’t have any favourite place in particular, but anywhere on the lake and I am happy!
